Olay Collagen Peptide 24 vs Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream
First and foremost, it's worth establishing the fact that these moisturizers are incredibly similar (despite what their marketing and packaging might suggest). Since they both contain the same 'unicorn' ingredients—Niacinamide, Panthenol, Glycerin and Peptides—they both boast practically the same benefits, specifically: the reduction in the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines, the reduction of uneven skin tone, and the restoration of your skin's protective barrier for glowing, strong skin.
Dig a little further into their ingredients lists and you'll find that the similarities most certainly do not end there. In fact, the only notable difference between the two on paper is that the Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream contains Hyaluronic Acid (which is intensely hydrating) and Mica (which adds a shimmer/sparkle to the cream to create a glowy effect upon application).
However, although it may be so that they share the majority of their ingredients lists, it's important to consider the concentrations of each of the active ingredients. The Collagen Peptide24 Day Cream contains "Olay's highest concentration of Peptides", and judging by the difference in the ingredients list order it would be reasonable to assume that it also contains a higher concentration of Niacinamide, too (although this isn't strictly confirmed by Olay). Since these are the two ingredients that make these moisturizers as popular as they are, it's fairly plain to see that the Collagen Peptide24 Day Cream pulls ahead in this regard, especially for those specifically looking for anti-aging benefits.
If you're looking for more of a 'plumping' effect in addition to anti-aging perks, then the inclusion of Hyaluronic Acid in the Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream may actually more than make up for the slightly lower concentration of Peptides and Niacinamide in its formula. However, it's important to note that some versions of the formula contain parabens, which can be rather sensitizing to some skin types.
To be clear, we prefer the Olay Peptide 24 Day Cream for its ever-so-slightly cleaner, safer formula and the higher dosage of skin-nourishing Peptides it offers. We can totally see the appeal in its sister product—the Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream—too, though, with the extra plumping effect it provides as well as the inclusion of a smidgen of Mica for that lovely 'glowy' look with every use.
